Download: Mecca 83 - The Life Sketches Ep (DOPEEEE!!!!!!!!)

No, I haven't posted in a while and No I probably won't for a while (will explain in a later post), but I recently received an email, and a very interesting email at that.
Mecca 83/Rise/REdefinition is a producer (or beat technician, remixer and semi professional crate digger) with one of the best sounds I've heard in about a year. So many producers try to imitate and never manage to develop themselves into something they should be, unique!
Check out the free mix-tape he sent me! Trust me, you don't want to miss this if you love real music. It's reminiscent of AFTA1, Elaquent (Less compression and more music though), J Dilla type sound.
P.S hopefully something big should be coming from this site soon (when I say soon, I mean as soon as I've done a load of other stuff and got some free time).
Alternate Covers For Some Classic Albums
Joe Buck (AKA. ArtilleryDS) created some amazing alternate covers that I found today. They feature 7 album covers recreated in highly stylised versions. You can check more of ArtilleryDS at his site and download the rest of the covers after the break.
The covers are part of a collaboration series from ArtilleryDS, Damu and Redefinition Records called The Redefinition Series. In teaming up with Damu and Redef Records, ArtilleryDS's images will now have sound added. Damu will be remixing selected songs from the albums that he is revising art wise.
Here's Madvillain's Madvillainy cover.
Revisions Cover No 7 by Joe Buck
What I wanted to do here was capture the wild, awkward, unorthodox nature of this album. When you get Mad Lib on the beats and MF Doom on the mic there is bound to be tons of inspirational content for use in graphics. I illustrated the famous MF Doom mask adding on my swirl horns (which are a part of my W.BAU painting series), throwing in a brass knuckle crown and a set of gold fronts. I surrounded the illustration with visual excepts of Dooms lyrics all topped off with my trademark vintage 12″ album cover theme. From Rainbows to Drano this is a great album.

Video: Boon Doc Tips On Drum Programming
It's been a long while since I last updated for numerous reasons that I can't be bothered to go into.
But I though I'd leave this for those who haven't seen it yet If anyone isn't subscribed to Boon Doc's YouTube channel then I recommend that you do.
There's music I hear, and then there's music I listen to.

Pharcyde - Drop
The music video for "Drop" was directed by Spike Jonze and filmed in Los Angeles. The video features footage of the group performing the song backwards, replayed backwards.
One of the best videos I've seen, even though it's from 1995. I found a letter from Spike Jonze (The director of the video) detailing how the video was made. It's hilarious some of the comments in there, "as you watch the video you will start to see weird stuff happening like: speedo's, pulling patato chips out of their." Click read more to see the letter.
Showcase: Alphanumeric

I don't usually feature random artists that contact me (most of the features I've found myself), but I decided to listen to this guys beats, listen to the 2 previews from his upcoming project "Alphabytes".
About Alphanumeric:
