What is ISK and how did it start?

ISK was set up in early 2009 a youtube page, with an aim to showcase tutorials on hip hop music creation and production. The page gained popularity quickly due to the success of 3 well targeted videos and soon the need for a website became obvious. However due to the limited web design and coding skills of L1 (The owner of ISK) at the time, the site never materialised. In early 2010 I decided to try and bring it back to life in the shape of a music blog. The site has received moderate success and now I feel it is time to move it up a notch. Community features and a streamlined more minimalistic design is now in place and with lots more to come in the future.

What is ISK built upon?

ISK first started as a youtube profile, transitioning to the blogging system Wordpress in early 2010, but the limits where soon reached and a new platform had to be found. This new format is run from the Drupal platform and incorporates many new features and usability quirks.
